Our Study Investigators and Staff
BD-STEPS is one of the largest studies looking into the causes of birth defects and is being conducted in multiple states. It requires a lot of coordination and people with expertise in many areas. These include epidemiology, genetics, clinical diagnoses, environmental research, teratology, statistics, and many other areas related to the study of birth defects.
Each center has a multi-disciplinary team that works on the study. The team consists of the principal investigator(s), study coordinator, data analysts, statisticians, programmers, laboratory technicians, doctors, and scientists. The principal investigators lead the study center team and direct the scientific projects. To learn more about who works on the study, browse through the pages for each Study Center.
